Fighting Liberalism

Fighting Liberalism...

I am not concerned with small issues like controlled drinking or tattoos. My camp often gets labeled liberal for that. I do not condemn the consumption of alcohol or getting tattoos. But what I am concerned with is the over reaching attempts of certain individuals to liberalize the Church.

It is unfortunate that Liberals have infiltrated the Church and seek to indoctrinate it. I am saddened that these people have abandoned the high view of Scripture that is necessary for a moral outlook. Naturally, this liberalism extends to all Christian groups.

Of course, I have to argue that a Reformed view of Scripture and a Reformed Worldview are best to truly fight liberalism. Mostly do to exegetical methods that are introduced in Scripture and the high view of Scripture that we apply to the Worldview. (Though some non-Reformed denominations and groups have a good set of morals to work with)
I can't express enough as to why it is so important that we do the following things to fight against liberalism. It is imperative that we think these things through. If we don't, then the moral collapse of the country and the world will cause the persecution of the Church and moral causes will degrade.

1. Think through your Worldview- A worldview is a philosophical outlook on society and a moral outlook on life. The Christian worldview is wide and diverse. A conservative-Reformed worldview is best because of the 2 reasons I stated above. It emphasizes morals that are clearly represented in the Bible. And education on theology and salvation.
2. Adopt a high view of God- when it comes to Christians caving in on issues like homosexuality and transgender, it is mostly due  to a low view of God. Arguments like "I was born gay" or men saying "I was meant to be a woman" are accepted and not seen as sinful. The question the reformed will ask is "who are you to say what is natural or unnatural?" God created the whole natural order and is the only one with the right to determine such things.
God is sovereign. He needs no influence from us to determine anything... a high view of God is necessary to fight liberalism.
3. Train our children- Catechism, Confession, Bible Study, Biblical Discipline, and Prayer is important. The children of today will be the ones to battle this rise of liberalism in the future.
4. Theology matters- you hear James White say this alot. Without a consistent theology, you get an inconsistent worldview. The doctrine of man, God, Scripture, salvation, grace, justice, etc... They all play an important part in your Worldview.

There are so many other things we could say regarding this subject. But we just need to remember that it is important that we remember that liberalism is fatal to the Christian worldview and we need to better fight against liberalism to be consistent Christians.

Soli Deo Gloria!
