Good is Sovereign over all things

God is sovereign over all things...

One of the most reprehensible questions we get is whether or not God decrees child rape... It is a sad thing to think about and takes an "interesting" mind to put someone in the place of having to answer that question. Honestly, I've answered it so much that I'm numb to it. My biggest desire in this is to answer it for the last time.

When we speak of compatiblism, we are speaking of God's will and man's nature working in a compatibilistic fashion with each other. Man's depraved nature is held back/restrained by God so that whenever God decrees something to happen, all he has to do is take his hand of restraint off of the person and they will fulfill their desires.

So to the question, does God decree the rape of Children. Yes, but he doesn't have to make a man do it. He will remove his restraining hand off of the individual and allow them to fulfill the very desire of their sinful, depraved, evil hearts. No other action need be taken. You may ask, where is the scriptures to support this... Well let's look at some.

1.      God is Sovereign

1Ch 29:11-12 Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
2Ch 20:6  And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and he hath set the world upon them.

Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well. But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the LORD, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel.

1Ki 22:19-23 And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left. And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so. B)     Man is not permitted to question his sovereign acts

What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
